6. Stats (Data Collection) Modules

These modules are primarily intended for collecting data (rather than offering information up for real-time monitoring).

Stats_Disk_Usage

• Records current disk usage for each partition --- we get some stats we fully understand. This will help us gain confidence (or not) in Sun's own disk accounting software.

Stats_Processes

• Records the number of processors in use periodically.
• Suggestions for more stuff?

Stats_Up

• Records that the machine is up at this time (runs frequently) --- such data can be used in monthly and annual stats for Important People on Committees.
