9. A Simple Daemon: symon

  1. Configure as described above — it is best to start with just one module and add one at a time (edit the value of $self->{MODULES} in BaseModsConfig.pm to do this).

  2. Run symon.

  3. Module data-output will, by default, be sent to _var/<module-name>__<date-time>[.gz]

  4. Application-stream output will, by default, be sent to <application-name>.<stream-name>, where, as supplied, application-name is symon and stream-name is one of log, error, trouble, warning and ticker.
